our 6 step process
Phase one
Discovery
We call our first appointment a conversational interview. Far from a formal interview, this first meeting with you is a relaxed conversation with a purpose.
At the end of this conversation, we hope you have a clear idea of what working with us might be like and if you can put your trust and confidence in us. And in return we’ll know how your project fits in with our schedule and areas of expertise.
Projects that proceed will gather technical data and measurements, document what stays, and schedule a photoshoot to document the “before” as well as act as reference materials.
Phase two
Onboarding
Once you’ve joined our family of clients you’ll be receiving your copy of the MEI Experience, our guide to what you can expect.
While you’re reviewing our processes and deliverables we’ll be entering you into our online system that houses all things regarding to your project including our accounting files. We take pride in having information at our fingertips and keeping your project organized.
Phase three
Conceptual Design
The conceptual design phase exists to confirm your scope, layout, investment estimate, and aesthetic direction.
We provide one round of revisions. We ask that you share all of your input at one time so that we can make edits as efficiently as possible. Revisions can add time to the project depending on the scale of the revision.
How can we be certain we’re giving you what we believe you need the first round? By doing our homework, a full discovery up front and then giving you
the tools you need to not only feel confident we understand what you’re after but to be excited about it as well.
Phase four
Detailed Design
The detailed design phase exists to turn details into orders.
We’ll present furnishings that are a fit for your budget, quality level and aesthetic using our industry knowledge and design expertise. We do not offer the ability for clients to see or sit test furnishings prior to purchase and thats often because it doesn’t exist until it’s made exclusively for you..
We provide one round of revisions. We ask that you share all of your input at one time so that we can make edits as efficiently as possible. Revisions can add time to the project depending on the scale of the revision.
We source all furnishings and prepare written quotes and detailed proposals.
Phase five
Procurement & Installation
This will be a relatively quiet time for our client. Rest assured we are busy communicating details to trades and vendors.
We will also be placing orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving deficiencies.
If the design project requires a build or renovation we can provide project management as well.
We’re then ready to oversee and coordinate deliveries.
Phase six
Project Delivery
What you’ve been waiting for, presentation of your project.
We will follow up on any outstanding items. The punch list and all details will be seen to completion. And to be sure that things stay looking nice we provide our Care Guide to maintain your new furnishings and finishes.
